Business Development Manager Needed for a Commercial Design Firm based in Sandton
A leading commercial interior design firm, known for delivering innovative and stylish designs that enhance workspaces, hospitality, and retail environments. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a crucial role in expanding the client base and increasing brand awareness. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and business development efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial interior design, a strong network, and the ability to connect design solutions with client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Growth & Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial interior design industry. Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients, including corporate offices, retail spaces, and hospitality businesses.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, architects, real estate developers, contractors, and other key stakeholders. Provide regular updates and ensure client satisfaction with ongoing projects.
• Strategic Planning & Market Research: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Use this data to create targeted strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue.
• Proposal Development & Negotiation: Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and bids for new projects. Collaborate with the design and project management teams to ensure solutions are tailored to client needs and budget.
• Sales & Contract Management: Close deals and manage contracts from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with terms, timelines, and quality standards.
• Brand Promotion & Networking: Represent [Company Name] at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. Promote the company’s portfolio and design capabilities to potential clients.
• Collaboration & Team Support: Work closely with the design, marketing, and operations teams to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in business development or sales in the commercial interior design or architecture industry.
• Strong understanding of the commercial interior design process, including budgeting, project management, and design concepts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong network of contacts within the commercial real estate, architecture, and design sectors.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM software, and other business development tools.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
• Experience working with commercial clients (corporate offices, retail spaces, hospitality).
• Knowledge of design trends, sustainable design practices, and cutting-edge technologies in interior design.
• Ability to travel for client meetings and events as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities.
